About Me
Can I be frank here? I don’t like boring books. I want to read something that drops me into the action and takes me on a wild ride. So, if I’m going to read something like that, I think it only stands to reason I should write something like that. If that makes sense to you, I think you’ll like my books.
The supernatural and the paranormal are the things that fascinate me most. But I didn’t come by that fascination easily.
I got clean and sober in September of 1991.
In 1993, I was diagnosed with, treated, and survived Hodgkins Lymphoma.
These two events in my life pushed me in directions I could never have foreseen – or, not to put too fine a point on it, shaped me for the years that would follow. Though I wouldn’t wish those three years of my life on my worst enemy, I look back on that time as a gift. It opened up my heart and mind to the spiritual and supernatural in a way I might never have discovered otherwise.
Things happened in those years. Some were discoveries of faith. Some were indeed supernatural and unexplainable. I don’t know why things happened the way they did, but man do they make for some cool stuff to write about. I use real events from my own life in much of my fiction.
I once heard a famous writer from Maine (you might have heard of him) say two things that always stuck with me. “Write what you know” and “Fiction is the truth inside the lie.”
Words to write by.
I hope you agree and come along for the ride.
I live in north central Massachusetts with my wife, Diana (who, along with my sister Susan, gave me the kick in the butt I needed to finally start my first book) and several cute furry and feathered critters. We spend a lot on pet food.
